Ever wondered how much it costs Apple to manufacture the new iPhone Max Pro that retails for Rs. 1,09,900? Here’s a recent analysis done by Techinsights & NBC News.
The 6.5” display costs Rs.4728.00
The Samsung battery inside the iPhone Max Pro costs Rs.747.00
The processor, modem, memory and the circuit boards costs Rs.11305.00
Sensors, wires, PCBs etc costs Rs.12870.00
This brings the total manufacturing cost to Rs.29,650.00 which does not include the manufacturing, assembly & packaging cost, software, shipping, marketing and other intangibles such as R&D, taxes etc.
With component cost at less than 1/3rd, Apple has a large enough band width to cover its other costs. So, does Apple’s pricing make sense after all?.
